Ball joint puller

This makes it easier to unfasten the tapered connections on ball joints and track rod ends in cars and vans. The tool can even be used on commercial vehicles or for detaching struts in agricultural vehicles. This is thanks to hydraulic assistance that increases the pressure of the extending piston to up to 12 t. The springloaded threaded adjuster is a smart touch that allows the tool to be adapted to different component sizes by turning it.

A good tip here is to grease the thread regularly.

Spreader tool

This universal spreader can be used to widen the suspension strut and ball joint mounts when separating the strut from the wheel bearing housing. The lead-in chamfer with rounded edges for insertion into the steering knuckle is an innovative new feature. Used together with a ¼-inch square drive ratchet – while counter-holding with a 17-mm open-ended spanner – it allows the job to be performed with ease. The small viewing window is a very handy feature as it ensures the spreading area is clearly visible at all times, even in the confined space around the steering knuckle.
